TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Derek Hill hit a three-run home run in the second inning, leading the Lakeland Flying Tigers to a 6-3 win over the Tampa Tarpons in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
The home run by Hill scored Anthony Pereira and Andres Sthormes to give the Flying Tigers a 4-3 lead.
The Flying Tigers added to their lead in the seventh when Luke Burch hit a two-run single.
Fernando Perez (2-1) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Tampa starter Matt Frawley (0-3) took the loss in the Florida State League game. Eduardo Jimenez retired the side in order for his eighth save of the season.
Lakeland improved to 5-2 against Tampa this season.
